It’s been nearly two years and I feel like I’m less fit than ever. Illness, injury, it all seems to keep stopping me from progressing as I’d like. Last year I started Couch to 5K, felt really good for six weeks but then pulled a calf and took ages to recover. I’ve had a long-term wrist problem which seems to be a ganglion – I’m waiting for an ultrasound to diagnose it and hopefully it can be dealt with quickly once that happens.
The wrist issue means I’m not comfortable on a bike for long stretches of time. I’ve got my bike serviced and ready to go, perhaps I just need to get out for shorter periods and build up some fitness. My weight is much higher than I’d like it to be as well.
I’m hoping to start Couch to 5K again in the next couple of weeks so that I can build up some fitness ahead of the cricket season. I joined a cricket team in 2024 and have really enjoyed it so far, but I keep injuring myself and it’s massively frustrating.
